Rs 5 Lakh Spurious Medicines Seized In Rural Etah

Etah/ Mainpuri : Complaint received by the Office of the Commissioner, Food Safety and Drug Administration, Uttar Pradesh and the team formed by the Headquarters, which included Drug Inspector, Ashutosh Mishra, Ghaziabad, Drug Inspector, Vaibhav Babbar, Gautam Buddha Nagar and Drug Inspector, Rajat Kumar Etawa.

On 17.03.2023, the team visited the office of Mainpuri Drug Inspector, Deshbandhu Vimal, at SBI Bank near Police Station Kurawali, District Mainpuri, on the information of distribution of spurious medicines by a person named Abhishek Kumar Shakya, at the location of a person named Abhishek Kumar Shakya. Raiding action was taken.

On the basis of information, the fake of a well-known drug Decadurabolin inj of Zydus by Abhishek Kumar Shakya was caught by the team even before he went to sell in the medical store. On the enquiry, neither any drug sales license nor any purchase bill was shown by Abhishek.

It was told by the team that prima facie the above recovered drug appears to be fake.

On enquiry, Abhishek Kumar Shakya told that a large quantity of spurious medicines have been stored in his house by Anuj Jain, police station police station, rural Etah.

This information has been given by the Headquarters to Drug Inspector Etah, Deepak Kumar and Drug Inspector Agra, Navneet Kumar, in compliance of order they raided jointly, from where fake and other medicines were seized in large quantities.

The following drugs were recovered from the spurious drugs seized:

1. Decadurabolin Injection 50mg (Zydus Health Care)
2. Pantop DSR (Aristo Pharma)
3. Monocef O (Alkem Laboratories)
4. Zifi  Tablets (FDC Ltd.)
5. Clavam 625 (Alkem Laboratories)
6. Diclofenac injection,
7. Oxytocin and other medicines were found in the banned pack.

10 samples were collected for testing and analysis. The rest of the drug has been seized in Form 16 under the Drug Act, the estimated value of eized drugs is more than ₹500,000.

An FIR has been registered against Abhishek Kumar Shakya and Anuj Jain, who sell spurious medicines, under sections 274, 275 and 276 of the IPC at Kurawali Mainpuri police station.

Further action in the case After test report of samples and as per rules, the complaint will be filed in the court.
