Smuggler Apprehended With 62,000 Narcotic Capsules And 6,600 Tablets Valued At 1.5 Million In Saharanpur

Saharanpur: Concerns are once again being raised regarding the operational effectiveness of the FSDA in Saharanpur. The district is witnessing the distribution of not only heroin but also various narcotic drugs and injections. A police operation led to the seizure of a significant cache of narcotics from a residence.

The extensive trade of narcotic substances is occurring right under the FSDA’s radar, yet the department remains oblivious. Law enforcement has detained one suspect, while two others are currently at large. Authorities recovered 62,000 narcotic capsules and 6,600 tablets, with an estimated value between 1 to 1.5 million rupees. This incident falls under the jurisdiction of the City Kotwali police station.

During a press briefing at the Police Line Auditorium, SP Rural Sagar Jain reported that the City Police acted on a tip-off regarding the supply and storage of narcotics. A raid was conducted at a residence in Mohalla Radha Vihar Colony.

The police apprehended Naveen Saini at the scene, recovering 62,000 narcotic capsules and 6,600 tablets from the premises. The operation also uncovered a stock of Proxyhon, Proxyiko, Tramadol, Alpraxizol, and Pentazone injections. A drug inspector was summoned to the location for an investigation, confirming that all the medications were classified as narcotic.

During questioning, Naveen disclosed that he and two associates were involved in the distribution of narcotic pills, injections, and capsules. His friends operate Ayurvedic medical stores, which have facilitated their connections with major pharmaceutical suppliers. They exploited these relationships to procure narcotic pills, injections, and capsules, storing the drugs at one of their friends’ homes. They would then distribute small quantities of these narcotics.

The FSDA has yet to take effective action against drug trafficking. Previously, law enforcement had confiscated a substantial amount of drugs, but officials from the drug department appear to be inactive, remaining confined to their offices. When the inspector of the FSDA is called, he does not even like to pick up the phone.
