Sonamura Police Seizes Eskuf Worth Rs 5 Lakh, Arrested 2

Agartala: Acting on a tip-off, Sonamura police seized 650 bottles of narcotic cough syrup with an estimated market value of Rs 5 lakh.

Briefing the reporters in this context, OC Sonamura Police Station Paritosh Das said, “We received specific information from secret sources and accordingly raided the residence of Sabuj Rahman in Bejimara area”.

“The search of his house revealed 650 bottles of Eskuf cough syrup that has a market value of Rs 5 lakh”, he said.

Police also detained two persons during the raid identified as Jalil Miya (45) resident of Baramura area and Alamgir Hossain (36), resident of Bashpukur.

Both will be produced before the court for further legal action, said police.

However, house owner Sabuj Rahman escaped from the spot and could not be detained.
