ED conducts searches across six States in drug trafficking case

The Enforcement Directorate on Tuesday conducted searches at 15 locations, including the premises of five pharmaceutical companies, across six States in connection with a drug trafficking case registered in Punjab.

The searches were carried out in Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Maharashtra.

The agency said its probe was based on a case registered by the Punjab police’s special task force to investigate an organised drug trafficking syndicate. The case is against “two alleged drug peddlers and one middleman, Alex Paliwal”. The premises of five pharmaceutical companies and related individuals were also searched, according to the agency sources.
