Smuggled Snake Venom of Worth Rs 1.7 Crore Seized

Raigad Police in Maharashtra helps four members of the inter-state gang for smuggling snake venom allegedly worth Rs 1.7 crore in illicit markets.

Arrested members kept snake venom in a water bottle and police arrested 46 years old Rajaram Jaiswar and 37 years old Udaynath Jaiswar at Mandva Jetty in Raigad. Then-Police arrested 36 years old Devilal Joshi and 35 years old Santosh Kumar Singh from Vapi district of Gujarat.

The arrested members that were hailing from Malvani in Mumbai told police that two persons from Gujarat had handed over the venom to them. Devilal Joshi belongs to Bikaner in Rajasthan while Singh is from Uttar Pradesh.

All arrested members were sent to Police custody by a local court. The investigation is in progress to find out the source from where they get it and where they were going to use it.
