Banned medicines seized in Jaipur: 4 miscreants arrested

Jaipur:  The Central Narcotics Bureau (CBN) team has initiated measures against the illicit trafficking of drugs. They have confiscated a significant shipment of prohibited substances, including Tramadol capsules, Alprazolam tablets, and bottles of Codeine Phosphate Syrup, from Jaipur’s Sodala. Additionally, four individuals have been apprehended, and cash amounting to 42 thousand rupees has been recovered from them.

Deputy Narcotics Commissioner Kota Naresh Bundel stated that officials from the Jaipur Cell received intelligence regarding two individuals transporting banned Tramadol on a motorcycle along Chhabra Road in Sodala. The team proceeded to the location and monitored the suspects. They were intercepted near the Chambal Power House on Chhabra Road in Jaipur. Upon searching the vehicle, 7920 banned Tramadol capsules and 118 bottles of Codeine Phosphate Syrup were discovered concealed within 33 boxes.

Following interrogation, the team set out to apprehend the supplier, who was detained near Balaji Petrol Pump. During the search, drugs valued at Rs 42,780 were recovered from the supplier. Upon questioning, the supplier provided information about the stockist. Consequently, the team conducted a raid on a residential complex situated on Sikar Road, where they seized 2184 Tramadol capsules, 600 Alprazolam tablets, and 97 bottles of Codeine Phosphate Syrup.

In total, the operation resulted in the recovery of 10104 smuggled Tramadol capsules, 600 Alprazolam tablets, 215 bottles of Codeine Phosphate, and cash amounting to Rs 42,780. Furthermore, three motorcycles have been confiscated, and four individuals have been arrested. The investigation is ongoing.
