Consignment of banned tablets received in parcel seized

RAJOURI : The District Police Rajouri unearthed a new modus operandi of some peddlers who are receiving consignment of banned drugs in parcel with seizure of one such consignment in Rajouri.

Acting over some information, a team headed by Deputy SP Headquarter Rajouri Mudassir Hussain along with SHO Rajouri Aejaz Ahmed Wani and Drug Inspector Shakoor Ahmed intercepted a parcel that reached Rajouri.

During search of the parcel received in courier, 400 banned tablets and capsules were recovered that the accused received through courier for further sale as a part of drug abuse.

The three accused who collected the parcel were detained for interrogation and investigation. The accused were identified as Hassan Parwaz son of Mohd Shabir resident of Rethal, Zafait Ali son of Abdul Hamid resident of Nadian (at present Aitti) and Mohd Farid son of Ghulam Qadir resident of Saroola Manjakote.

Legal action under Drugs and Cosmetics Act was being taken against the accused.
