Medicines Containing ‘Chalk Clay’ Being Sold In The Kanpur Market

Kanpur: The laboratory test report of many branded medicines in the last 10 months during the raid conducted by the drug department in Kanpur, UP is shocking. Chalk and clay have been found in the medicines. The test reports have revealed that gas, fever, urine and antibiotic medicines are being sold on a large scale in the city, and the percentage of fake medicines is high in them. In the test reports of the samples taken during the raid from January to October, 18 fake, 23 substandard and two misbranded medicines have been found.

Health Harmful effects of clay and chalk

The business of fake and adulterated medicines is flourishing in the name of high discounts. If we look at the test reports of the samples taken in the last 10 months, 18 medicines were found to be fake, 23 substandard and two misbranded. Drug Inspector Rekha Sachan said that even medicines of branded companies are being found to be fake. In the investigation, chalk and clay were found in the medicines. The condition of the patient worsens due to the consumption of such medicines, and when there is no benefit, the doctor increases the dose of the medicine, then the amount of clay and chalk also goes more into the body. This causes further harm to the health. She said that the patient should also keep in mind that if the medicine does not give desired results, then on the advice of the doctor, try medicine from another company.

These brands were found to be fake during the raid in 10 months

According to the drug inspector, in the last 10 months, medicines of many branded companies have been found to be fake. These include medicines of Torrent Pharma, Macleods Pharma, Cadila, Alkem, Lupin, Aristo, Cipla Limited, Sun Pharma, Glenmark, Abbott, Dr. Reddy’s and other companies. According to the drug inspector, the team raided Medi Life Agency and Nigam Drugs Medical Store located on Birhana Road. Samples of 18 medicines were taken here. These were sent to the lab for testing. The report of seven medicines received failed. Three medicines were found to be fake. At the same time, a raid was conducted at Pulkit Gupta’s New Gagan Chemist in Kaushalpuri, Nazirabad. The shop was sealed for selling fake medicines. Here too 18 samples were taken. Medicines worth about five lakhs were sealed. Samples of medicines were sent to the State Public Drug Laboratory, Lucknow. Where nine medicines were found to be fake and two were found to be sub-standard.

The sample of injection being administered in government hospital also fails

At Ursula, low-efficacy amoxicillin and potassium clavulanate injections were given to infected patients. This antibiotic fights infections caused by bacteria. Uttar Pradesh Medical Supplies Corporation Limited had supplied the injections. In April, the drug department taken a sample of the injection from Ursula, which failed the test. Pantocid, Zerodol SP, Omez D, Pan D Capsule, Pan D, Good Safe-200, Augmentin 625, Clavam 625, Urimax D, Chymoral Forte Tablet, Montair FX Tablet, Aciloc RD, Pantop DSR Capsule, Compod 200 Tablet, Defcort 6 Tablet were found to be fake.

These medicines were found substandard during investigation

Let us tell you that, Telma H, Apriz D 3, Chymoral Forte Tablet, Zerodol SP, Montair LC Tablet, Amoxicillin Potassium Clavulanate Injection, Acemarc Plus Tablet, Ceemox L Capsule, Sompraz D 40, Apriz D-3 60000 Capsule, Metrate XL 50 Tablet, Temsnir 0.4 Tablet, Lido CV 625 Tablet, Forclav 625 Tablet, L Hist Mont Tablet, Ramnil 2.5, Pantin were found substandard.
