Two different medicines one for diabetes and another anticancer being sold with same brand or trade name?

Similarly medicine under brand name MEDZOLE is being marketed with three different salts ( albendazole, metronidazole and pentaprazole)

Now if a doctor prescribe a patient this drug MEDZOLE for acidity and the chemist dispense him MEDZOLE containing metronidazole or albendazole- Might be injurious to him.

For kind attention Union Health Minister Ashwani Mandvi, There is no scope for acceptance of two drugs having different API molecules and having same names bet it a brand name or by way of proper name. It is a claim by the manufacturers. . A case for notice presuming the drug spurious is made out against such manufacturer.

And the drugs inspector can determine which drug was launched first, and make the case to further for legal action
The State Licensing Authority to issue STOP PRODUCTION ORDER, and call for further details. SLA also must be vigilant to issue such approval of drugs with same names to manufacturer. Although the doctors are morally as well as legally bound to prescribe medicine by generic name only but such practice is not frequently followed

Tailpiece.

Guess what would have happened if.a doctor/hospital made this mistake.Author could be contacted at pawanbansal 2 @gmail.com.January २२,२०२४
